Father,
We are blessed to have a time to honor our veterans
who have served our country,
defended our freedom
and protect us from harm.
We give thanks for the Veterans who are here
and those who have gone to you but not forgotten.
To them we owe a debt of gratitude that can never be repaid.
May we never erase them from our memories.
May our thanksgiving and appreciation honor them
for their service, commitment and sacrifice,
They are truly a reflection of Christ’s unconditional service on the cross.
May you continue to pour out your graces upon them.
Bless our country and may you help us
to work for peace and reconciliation among all nations,
so that we may reflect Jesus Christ as the prince of peace.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
